9 Jan 2010 - day 9

coldest day in forever in the UK with still inches of snow on the ground. I just want the snow to melt and to get on with life now! Managed to get to the supermarket and then stayed in with Evie in the warm.

I asked Evie if she wanted to play a game, then she went over to pick a Wii game lol I told her I meant something like Connect 4 or Jenga! She picked Connect 4 so we *played* that for hours.

8 Jan 2010 - day 8

ok - so what's new... the snow? nope.. the cold? nope.. lordy! well at least the buses were back running so I had a good chance of getting Evie to her childminder.

She went - and I went to work... did some work and came home! Evie wanted to make more snowmen but the snow is too dry and only stuck to our gloves.. I suddenly realised that our house has loads of icicles hanging off the front of it and then saw our outside tap... EEK! It looks kinda arty but I know that unless it's turned off (and it's NOT!) it may burst... I may live with a plumber but does he remember these things before the weather gets cold..

7 Jan 2010 - day 7

yet another below freezing day today - worst weather in the UK in 30 years (in that case I was actually alive the last time it was this bad!)

Evie and I went to a friends for lunch but I will be back at work tomorow.

I have done enough today and decided that I will take my knitting to bed and see if I can add an inch or so. I am making Evie a little bag to take out with her - and I am making it on the fly!

6 Jan 2010 - day 6

so it snowed all night it seems and this morning we had about 4 inches of snow!

After going out to clear the car of snow I observed some other drivers and took the decision that I would not be driving anywhere today. I am fairly confident in the snow but I will not take Evie in the car in it. She is far too precious to me.

Andy went for a walk to the main road and even decided that he wouldn't be going anywhere.. so we had a family snow day at home! It was lovely to spend time together as I can't remember the last time the 3 of us were just hanging out. We all wrapped up and went out to make a snowman - who looks rather ace if I do say so myself lol

Then Andy and I had a snowball fight in which I was worried I would get pelted but he's got such a rubbish aim that I didn't get hit and dodged and weaved quite easily. Here is our horny snowman! (yes we used frozen carrots!)

5 Jan 2010 - day 5

Well today wasn't better at work... urgh..

Not much of note today.. although Evie now knows the naughty step :(

oh and it's snowing - a weather alert has been issued.. there could be up to 40cm of snow here overnight - something we don't see that often!

Here is my garden about 90 mins after it started...

4 Jan 2010 - day 4

Today was my first day back at work.. was a head scrambler as I expected. Tomorrow will be more settled (I hope!)

After work I had an appointment with my dentist that I was looking forward to! Jessica, my dentist, is female and Swedish and very very lovely! So after I had my check up Evie decided to hop up into the chair.. I hadn't booked her in as I wanted her to see mummy being examined before I took her for her own check up. I need not have worried though - she was brilliant. Sat there with her mouth wide open while Jessica checked all her little teeth, then she checked over 'Bear' too!

For being such a good girl Evie got a princess sticker.. I was good too but didn't get a sticker :(

3 Jan 2010 - day 3

Well it's the last Sunday of the holidays as tomorrow I'm back to work like most of the country.. didn't go out as below freezing for most of the day. I have managed to get 4 loads of laundry done.. and a lot of it dry too.

Evie and I did take some time out this morning to play on the Wii! We were playing Just Dance and Mario Kart! When I asked Evie if she wanted to play a game I was thinking more along the line of Connect 4!
